Behavior Specialist (G Cert)
Program Purpose
The behavior specialist certificate program provides educators and other professionals with knowledge and skills necessary to work with individuals who are at risk in schools and other environments because of emotional, behavioral, or social challenges. The overall objective of the program is to prepare school personnel and other professionals to provide best practice, research-based supports to individuals, with or without disabilities.

Behavior Specialist candidates analyze and synthesize evidence-based research concerning characteristics of individuals with emotional, behavioral, and social challenges and concomitant interventions and supports.
Global
Behavior Specialist candidates work collaboratively with other stakeholders to support the needs of individuals with emotional, behavioral, and social challenges.
Leadership Development
Behavior Specialist candidates demonstrate leadership skills in implementing interventions and supports for individuals with emotional, behavioral, and social challenges.
