Sustainable Tourism (G Cert)
Program Purpose
The sustainable tourism certificate introduces students to the foundations of sustainable tourism and around the globe. Courses in the program introduce students to the economic, environmental, and socio-cultural aspects of tourism. Through the exploration of sustainability concepts and practices, the certificate helps students acquire knowledge and develop critical thinking skills needed by managers to work effectively to develop sustainable tourism operations and organizations that consider the impacts on and interactions between the economy, the environment, the local community, and the tourist.

Students will recognize and create effective written communication, imparting appropriate attention to the audience, context, format, and documented evidence.
