Audiology (AuD)
Program Purpose
The mission of the Aud program within the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders is to improve the quality of human communication. We will accomplish our mission by preparing professionals and advanced scholars in audiology to provide critical leadership in research and health service.
Learning Outcomes
Clinical Assessment
Students will demonstrate knowledge of assessment and diagnosis in a clinical setting.
Communication
Students will demonstrate communication skills through speaking, listening, writing, and other methods of interpersonal expression.
Evidence-Based Practice
Upon completion of the Audiology program, students will use multiple forms of research to inform practice decisions based in clinical-community Audiology practice.
Knowledge
Students will obtain a mastery of content related to the major audiology practice areas of prevention, identification, assessment, and intervention, together with foundational knowledge of standards of professional audiology practice.
Professional Behavior
Students will demonstrate professional behavior in clinical settings.
Stewardship
Demonstrate professional stewardship through service and leadership.
