Environmental Health (MSEH)
Program Purpose
The Environmental Health Sciences graduate (MSEH) Program at East Carolina University provides education to students in order to prepare them for careers or career advancement in environmental public health, occupational health/industrial hygiene, environmental protection, institutional environmental health and related fields at the local, state, regional, national and international level.
Learning Outcomes
Environmental Health Research
Students will apply problem-solving skills to interdisciplinary environmental health research.
Funding for Research
Students will demonstrate evidence of seeking appropriate external and/or internal funding support for their research activities.
Global and Local Environmental Health
Students will analyze and evaluate environmental health disciplinary concepts to explain how global and local environmental health issues are interconnected.
Leadership
Students will demonstrate application of leadership in group projects and related assignments.
Research Design and Ethics
Students will demonstrate research design and application and research ethics competency for both MS Options.
Resource Management
Students will demonstrate efficient and effective management of equipment, supplies, space and other research tools (e.g., statistical analysis software, surveys) to effectively apply problem-solving approach to environmental health research problems.
